Situated in stunning heathland at the heart of the Isle of Purbeck, the Halfway Inn is the meet point between the historic market town of Wareham, and William the Conqueror’s Corfe Castle. The Halfway Inn is well known for its warm, dog-friendly hospitality and quality fresh food offer.
The pub itself dates back to the 16th century and was originally used as a thatched-roof-farmhouse. Several original features remain including wattle and daub walls and flagstone floors. The Halfway continues to ooze character with log burning fires, a spacious garden room and traditional Dorset ales on tap. This rural gem must be visited to truly be appreciated – we warmly welcome you!
As always, your safety is our highest priority.
Tier 3 restrictions mean that we cannot welcome you inside the pub so we will be closed from 31.12.2020.
We wish you all a Happy New Year and will look forward to opening our doors and offering you a warm welcome once restrictions permit.
Keep Safe Everyone!

Find out moreWould definitely recommend!!!! I booked a table for Sunday lunch, for our party of 5, following the reviews on Trip Advisor…The Halfway Inn did not disappoint. The service from entering the pub/restaurant was impeccable, the staff were attentive without being over the top, and were informative about the menu. The quality of the food was excellent.

There are plenty of options including children’s dishes…When our food arrived, we were impressed with the presentation and generous portions….the food was delicious and we will definitely return. On a warm sunny day, there’s lots of seating outside and a play area for young children.
Aggie1972 on TripAdvisorI visited monkey world with my family (3 children 3 adults). After a wonderful day we decided we would like dinner out...just passing, we popped into the Halfway Inn, the staff were lovely. Look forward to going back again.
