The Halfway Inn is perfectly positioned amongst a multitude of beautiful, local rural attractions including Corfe Castle, The Blue Pool, Studland National Reserve and the Jurassic Coast. Popular with Nordic walkers, ramblers, cyclists and dog-walkers alike, the surrounding picturesque countryside offers an array of walking and cycling routes close by.

Our lovely pub is also ideally situated in close proximity to several campsites. We provide much needed refreshment to hungry guests both big and small. Through the summer months, our children’s play area and large outdoor seating area is perfect for keeping the whole family entertained. If you fancy venturing further afield during your visit, there are plenty of activities in driving distance. Monkey World, Dorset Water Park and Swanage Railway are popular favourites.

Start on our doorstep and soak up the local surroundings with our idyllic 4 mile pub walk. Cross ancient and atmospheric Hartland Moor whilst spectating some of the stunning wildlife that the Isle of Purbeck has to offer.

The Blue Pool

Situated a mere 5 minute drive from the Halfway Inn, and described as Dorset's unique and tranquil beauty spot, the Blue Pool at Furzebrook is a disused clay pit, flooded with a striking spectrum of blue and turquoise water. Surrounded by 25 acres of heath woodland, with views of the Purbeck Hills, the Blue Pool offers a stepped walking route with breath-taking scenery.

Corfe Castle

Built by William the Conqueror in the 11th Century and now operated by the National Trust, the historic Corfe Castle is located 2 miles from the Halfway Inn. Medieval Falconry and traditional village fairs are amongst several activities that take place at the Castle throughout the school holidays.

Monkey World Ape Rescue Centre

Less than 8 miles from the Halfway Inn is the Monkey World Ape Rescue Centre. Home of the TV show ‘Monkey Life’, this 65-acre sanctuary was set up in 1987 to provide a permanent, stable home for abused Spanish beach chimpanzees. Today the site is now a sanctuary for primates from across the globe and it welcomes visitors every day of the year except Christmas Day.

The Tank Museum

Less than 9 miles from the Halfway Inn is the Tank Museum which is home to a unique collection of over 300 vehicles. Six large exhibitions tell the story of armoured warfare from World War One to the present day. Regarded as the best in the world, the exhibition includes the world's first ever tank - Little Willie, the feared German Tiger tank and the modern Challenger 2.
